Karmann Ghia

The Karmann Ghia had modest roots in the VW Beetle, but it had a sleek outer skin that still looks wonderful today.  This one was with guests in Shenandoah.  It appears to be in the process of some work as shown by the missing trim ring on the passenger headlight and the missing trim pieces.  It looks like a loved machine seeing some work.  In non-COVID times, I would have looked for the owners and told them how much I appreciated their ride.  This year we were only able to enjoy spotting it as it headed south on Skyline Drive.

Waxing Time

She recently reached her second birthday.  Sunday is the Miata's turn for waxing.  Unfortunately, it's almost time for the hardtop too.

Honda Clarity

I spotted a rare Honda Clarity in a nearby Target.  It's the second one I have seen in the wild.  Clarity's sell lightly, but about 34,000 have been sold in the US since introduced in 2016.  They seem to be targeted on the coasts with the hydrogen fuel cell version of the model to only have sales in California and Oregon.  This one seems to have started out in Maryland and migrated to Northeast Ohio.  The car is reasonably attractive with the rear fender skirts the only design feature that sticks out.  Honda has carried that design from the first Insight.
