1968 Ford Galaxie 500

We were visiting Winchester, Virginia and taking a walk through town.  This '68 Galaxie was parked on the street.  Its rough in places, but looks like a daily driver for someone.  It was an interesting sighting on our walk.

The parking area near the Appalachain Trail leading to Bearfence Mountain said it all.

Cadillac CT5-V Spotted in Pennsylvania?

We had stopped for a vacation visit at Ohiopyle and these two Cadillac's wearing the spotting of test cars.  They rolled in just behind us and pulled through the parking area.  The driver of the first car spotted me while walking back to the second car.  They quickly pulled away and exited the lot leaving me with only the sweet sound of the exhaust from the new perfomance set-up.  It sounded wonderful.

These look like the same two vehicles that drove through a cars and coffee at High Octane Cafe in Michigan a few weeks ago.  They had much of their camo removed for that pass through.

Once the show had moved on we went back to enjoying a different roar from the water of the Yough.

Dune Buggy

I spotted this dune buggy in the parking lot for Mentor Lagoons.  These were made possible through the work of  Bruce Meyers who decided in 1962 that he could take time off from surfing to use his boardmaking knowledge to create a fiberglass body for a dune buggy.  Using a donor Volkswagon Beetle let history be made.  I'm not sure of the body manufacturer for this one.  It doesn't seem to have the right lines for a Manx body including the hood bulge.  It was looking inviting near the shores of Lake Erie on a perfect summer evening.

The birding at Menor Lagoons is amazing too.
